Pastor Steve Mason’s Vision for Burnham Commnity Church
I see a Church of 350 people growing predominantly through new birth. That is Christ centred and exists for the Glory and Supremacy of God in all things.
I see a Church of Compassion where the Lost, Poor, Broken and Lonely can find Acceptance, Love, Healing, Forgiveness, Hope, Encouragement, Significance and have a Purpose to live for.
I see a Church that demonstrates Compassion by feeding the hungry through the provision and distribution of food boxes to those unable to provide for themselves, and that this work would expand to also provide furniture and clothing for the poor and needy.
I see a Church that is committed to raising leaders from every generation and releasing them into their full potential.
I see Burnham becoming an Antioch Base where Christians are sent out to fulfil the Great Commission, and have a burden for the nations and includes the planting of new Churches.
I see a Church where the Word of God is preached and taught in a way that brings enlightenment into peoples lives so that they live the Kingdom life to their full potential, where each believer discovers their own giftings, abilities and is released to function within those areas freely.
I see a Church that is a Teaching and Equipping centre, and a place of strategic significance in Gods Kingdom where Evangelism is central to its function.
I see a Church that cares for the needs of young expectant teenagers and that gives support through the development of a Crisis Pregnancy Centre, which offers Care, Compassion and Practical Support.
I see a Church equipped with a Healing Centre where people can come and receive prayer for healing, and that trains and equips believers for such ministry work.
I see a Church charged with fervent prayer, exuberant praise, passionate for Gods presence, flowing in the gifts of the Spirit, and ministering to the whole person. One that utilises the latest media technology, a 24hr centre for worship, prayer and healing, with excellent Nursery, Children and Youth facilities. A cafe serving great food and beverages, a place that effects and influences the community with the good news of Jesus in a way that changes lives for eternity.
This is the Church I see.
