Taking The Church To The Community

Our vision is to reach others, who for various reasons are unable to attend church regularly. We have a team who visit residential homes in and around the Burnham area.

Coffee Mornings and Tea Dances

We live in a culture where the elderly are no longer respected and valued. Many live lonely isolated lives and feel that they no longer have anything to contribute. We at Splendour want to change that. We hold free coffee mornings in various homes for older residents of Burnham on Sea; it’s a great way to meet new people and old friends. We serve Tea and Coffee and lots of lovely cakes! aiming to recreate a greater sense of community.

Charity Information

For the next year we have decided as a team to support a charity at our events.
We have decided to support Cancer research, as this is a charity very close to our hearts.

Jonathan, whom many of you know from tea and cakes, was diagnosed with a malignant tumour on his  spine in 2001 at just 10 yrs old. He underwent nearly a year of intensive chemotherapy and a 6 week course of radiotherapy. He spent much of that time in hospital as he suffered from regular infections due to his diminished immune system. He was only given a 50/50 chance of survival. The specialist doctors and all of the nurses were amazing and made that awful time so much more bearable. Thanks to the work of cancer research and all of the specialists that work in this area, he has now been in remission for 9 years! We hope you will join with us in our efforts to raise money for This very important work
